allowing students to take admission tests for a second time
Public university admission tests in the upcoming academic year will be held with curtailed syllabuses, Education Minister Dipu Moni has said.
She was speaking to journalists at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Dhaka on Thursday.
The government took the decision as SSC, HSC and their equivalent exams had been held with shortened syllabuses, the minister said.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has been instructed on the matter and it will make a decision after meeting with the vice chancellors (VC) of the public universities, she added.
When contacted, UGC Member Prof Muhammed Alamgir said: “We have already decided to consider two issues – curtailed syllabuses and allowing students to take admission tests for a second time.”
