Last week’s fire at a chemical factory in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj has claimed another life.
Twenty-three-year-old Mujahid, who had 80% burns, died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka’s Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery at 4:20am on Saturday.
Earlier, on Friday, another victim of the fire, 35-year-old Akalu, succumbed to his burn injuries.
Nine workers sustained burn injuries in the fire at Lily Chemical Factory on March 29.
Others injured in the fire are Bayezid, 30, Rokon, 25, Khademul, 20, Sojib, 30, Ripon, 25, Mehedi, 21, and Rasel, 22.
Three firefighting units managed to douse the blaze in around two hours, and the Fire Service suspects it was caused by a short circuit during heavy rain.
