Nighttime temperatures across the country are likely to drop further in the 72 hours from Sunday morning as winter intensifies its cold grip, says the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The weather may gradually become colder in the next few days and the mild cold wave is likely to spread to more and more areas, Meteorologist Md Omar Faruq told the daily Prothom Alo.
Besides, the weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies, and moderate to thick fog may occur across the country from midnight to morning, the Met Office said in its 9am bulletin.
The lowest temperature in the country on Sunday was recorded at 9.1 degrees Celsius in Sreemangal of Sylhet.
Bangladesh usually experiences its coldest days of winter in January.
