Even though April Fools’ Day is a month away, Spider-Man stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Tom Holland pulled a fast joke on fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise. They all shared a different fake name for the upcoming sequel on Instagram.
The Cast of the Upcoming Spider-Man Movie Shared an Exclusive Still from the Film
Tom Holland, who plays Peter Parker, claimed that the new movie would be called Spider-Man: Phone Home. He also included a caption that said he was excited to announce the new title. Holland added that he couldn’t wait for the fans to see what the crew has been up to.
Zendaya, who plays MJ, claimed that the title was Spider-Man: Home Slice, possibly winking at how Peter Parker delivers pizza in the comics. Her post went on to say that she was excited to announce the new Spider-Man title. She also said that the friends of Spider-Man would be back.
Meanwhile, Jacob Batalon, who plays Ned Leeds, suggested that the moniker for the movie would be Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker. All actors shared an exclusive still from the movie as an extra gift to the fans. The three images showed the three characters exploring a spooky building. Ned is shown using his trusty laptop, and Peter and MJ are huddled around him.
The Fake Titles All Referenced the Fact That the Previous Two Movies Contained “Home” in Theirs
Apparently, the three performers were joking with the title based on the fact that both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home included the word “home.” Each of the young stars also showed their surprise at the different titles when jokingly reacting to the posts of the others.
Regardless of the actual title, the Spider-Man movie is set to release in December 2021. Based on reports related to the movie, the third movie might bring a live-action Spider-Verse straight into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Several unexpected returns from the entire run of Spider-Man‘s live-action movies could make an appearance in Spider-Man 3, including Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Kirsten Dunst, and Emma Stone.
